Motown Gospel recording artist and Grammy Award winner Tasha Cobbs is preparing for her next live recording. Cobbs will record her second national release on October 13 at 7p ET at The Redemption Center in Greenville, South Carolina. The event is free and open to the public. However, attendees are asked to bring one special thing as the price of admission.
“We all have heard the saying that you ‘appreciate something more when you invest in it’. If you’ve sacrificed and invested in order to get there, you’re not coming as a spectator, you’re coming to actively participate in the worship experience,” says Cobbs.
“I’ve noticed that God always sends me places that require a sacrifice in order for one to attend,” continues Cobbs. “I had the opportunity to minister at Redemption Center a few months ago and I knew immediately that I was going to record there. Apostle Carpenter and the Redemption Church have been very gracious to open their church doors to us.”
The recording is slated to feature guest performances from Bishop Paul S. Morton and Dove Award winner Jamie Grace. Label mate and friendVaShawn Mitchell, who produced Cobbs’ chart topping project Grace, will resume his role as producer for this new effort.
“It is going to be in the same vein as Grace,” shares Cobbs. “It will be a collection of worship songs that will enhance and provoke an atmosphere of worship no matter where you are.”
Cobbs burst on to the national scene with her 2013 release Grace. That project birthed the smash single “Break Every Chain” which spent 8 weeks atop Billboard‘s Hot Gospel Airplay Chart. The song would be named the #4 Gospel Song on Billboard‘s 2013 Year End Gospel Songs Chart while the album would be named the #3 Gospel release of 2013 by Billboard.
In addition, she would go on to win 3 GMA Dove Awards, 3 Stellar Awards, and a Grammy Award for the projectGrace.
Look for this new untitled live project to hit stores in 2015.
