When Anita Wilson released her debut album, Worship Soul, in 2012, she created a new lane of gospel music– the kind that seamlessly merged a tried-and-true message with throwback soul stylings and contemporary gospel grooves. Now, two years and GRAMMY, Stellar and Dove award nominations later, she dominates the lane as she goes from 0 to 100 with her new project, Vintage Worship.
On Vintage Worship, Anita Wilson takes listeners on a musical journey, giving a nod to some of the best styles of classic soul, R&B, jazz and even disco, all while delivering the gospel without apology. To craft the 12-track project, she again enlists her partner-in-music, hitmaking producer Rick Robinson.
Absolute favorites on the project include “Time After Time,” a well-delivered mid-tempo groove featuring Anaysha Figueroa, the thumping R&B tune “So Gone” (which ends with a beautifully jazz-themed bevy of vocals) and “Keep Doing What You’re Doing,” which is set to an 80′s soul vibe before leading into a driving churchy vamp.
Other standouts include the album opener, “Close To You,” which is an interlude-like tune with an emphatic plea, “You Love Me (Best of My Love),” a feel-good throwback that incorporates the 1970′s Emotions disco hit “Best of My Love,” and “Everything (Definition of a Friend),” a worshipful declaration with passionate lyrics and a sweeping melody.
The project is definitely a soul album, so those who aren’t too keen on classic R&B music may not absolutely adore it as much as those of us who are classic soul heads for life. Don’t get stuck on the style, though– from start to finish, Vintage Worship is, at its core, just a collection of feel-good music and worthy addition to your collection.
Here at Show and Tell Gospel we believe in shedding light on new artists so that they can get their shine just like the major artists! This is a platform for the voices that haven’t been heard so today we introduce to you… Booster Mostyn!
Booster is from Detroit, MI and a graduate of Detroit Schools of Arts, went on to Kentucky State University where he was a part of the choir and band. Although Booster is most known for his talent on the piano, he also plays the saxophone!
Just recently Booster dropped his single “Saved” from his upcoming album ” My OCD” (Origin, Change and Destiny) scheduled to release August 25th .
The single “Saved” compares the unsaved to being stranded on an island being enslaved by your sins with your only way off the island is to confess Jesus as Lord. Check it out below!

What is there NOT to love about Destiny’s Child?!
As Michelle Williams prepares to drop her upcoming gospel album, “Journey to Freedom” in September, she decided to reunite with her sisters, Beyonce and Kelly for her new single, “Say Yes”.
The three haven’t been together since the 2013 Superbowl halftime performance so it’s definitely good to see them together again!
Williams premiered a sneak peak of the video this morning on Good Morning America but we have the full video! Check it out below…
And the angels in heaven have released a sweet sound in rejoice for this EP! lol (We love TWG!)
At this point how can you not be a fan/supporter of The Walls Group?!
From watching them make their debut via YouTube and cause a frenzy among the gospel music community, to dominating the charts, the last year has been nothing short of amazing for The Walls Group.
So now, in what will be sure to be a cause to celebrate, their Kirk Franklin produced EP ‘Love On The Radio‘ is the highest selling Christian & Gospel album on iTunes.
Set to hit the road as opening act for gospel force Tye Tribbett, and the release of their full length project ‘Fast Forward’ will set The Walls’ even further into the public eye, it would be fair to say that this #1 will indeed by one of many.
The wait is finally OVER!
Congratulations are in order for singer/songwriter Mali Music and his ever loyal fans…by way of his brand new LP ‘Mali Is…‘.
For, after being released at midnight, the LP has already found itself firmly placed at #7 on iTunes overall chart based on the momentum generated from the project’s new single.
Hailed by fans and critics alike; if the album’s high ranking on iTunes is anything to go by, it’s a sure-fire contender for the top 5 on the Billboard Charts next week.
Be sure and stop by iTunes to purchase your copy.
Check back next week to see where “Mali Is..“ lands at on Billboard charts.
Is anybody else excited about this as much as we are?!
UPDATE: GUESS WHO WAS JUST ADDED TO THE TOUR?! Tasha Page Lockhart and The Walls Group!!!!! Tasha made the announcement today via Instagram
Kirk Franklin is collaborating with House of Blues Entertainment and its venues across the United States to create a new national gospel tour, “Kirk Franklin Presents Tye Tribbett” debuting in July.
“This is a great chance to share the gift of a spectacular talent like Tye with gospel fans throughout the country in a fresh new show that is unlike any production we’ve ever seen,” said Franklin. “It will be a special experience.”
For nearly two decades, Franklin has been a multi-platinum-selling pioneer in gap-bridging musicianship, uniting audiences across gospel, hip hop, pop and R&B. Last year he joined forces with House of Blues to create a new Gospel brunch experience as part of its year-long 20th Anniversary Celebration.
“I’m excited to have this chance to perform in such unique venues that will allow the audience to be closer to the performances than virtually anywhere else possible.
“We’re putting together a show that will take gospel to another new place.”
Kirk Franklin will be picking a special support guest for each date. Will YOU be there? I think this is pretty cool. Often times, in the Gospel Music industry, people are afraid to share platforms and opportunities. Kirk has been a blessing to so many…Kirk…you TOTALLY rock!

Sarah Jakes, daughter of The Potter’s House pastor Bishop T.D. Jakes, hit a chord with many when she shared in a series of blog posts about the turmoil she endured as a teen mom and years later, over a broken marriage. In her new memoir, Lost and Found: Finding Hope in the Detours of Life, Jakes goes even deeper into the struggles that she feels ultimately led her back to God and gave her a platform to speak to a generation struggling with faith, the church and their own detours in life.
“If you had told me the girl who got pregnant at thirteen and felt like the black sheep child of America’s favorite preacher would now be a twenty-five-year-old single mom, divorcée, author, motivational speaker, TV personality, ministry director, and senior editor, I never would have believed you,” Jakes writes in Lost and Found.
The mother of two, who divorced ex-NFL player Robert Henson in 2012 after four years of marriage, continues:
“But knowing it’s true, that I’m all these things and so much more now, I’d say the only way to get your bearings and find yourself is to trust that you were never really lost. Amid all your twists and turns, perhaps you simply haven’t discovered the right direction yet. God loves the lost. And He loves to help us find our way when we turn to Him and ask directions. …”
Jakes, who blogs at SarahJakes.com and oversees the women’s ministry at her parents’ megachurch in Dallas, recently spoke with The Christian Post about how privileged she feels to be able to use her testimony to inspire others in their walk with God.
